Should Genes be Patented? Public Forum and Panel Discussion
On Friday 24th April, The Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia (IPRIA) and the Centre for Ideas and the Economy held a public discussion on the topic "Should Genes be Patented?" The purpose of the event was to provide a forum for leading academics, government officials, business leaders and scientists from around Australia to discuss the issue of genetic patenting, one that is of growing importance and relevance to economic activity within Australia and around the world.
